Since Nikon gives it the S designation, I assume the Z-mount version will be much better, but it is still a 5x zoom and will be hard to compete against the modest 24-70mm/f4 S, in the range they overlap. Both versions (F and Z) of the 24-120mm/f4 have 77mm front filter thread, vs. 72mm for the 24-70mm/f4 S.

So it's longer and wider than the old VR 24-120 F4, though slightly lighter. It doesn't have VR, whereas the F-mount did. No surprise, it's bigger and heavier than the S line 24-70 mm F4.
