Hi, I have noticed the past month when setting off and at low revs (1000 to 1500) no matter which gear there is a sort of rattling/whirring noise coming from the front of the engine, i read it could be the alternator tensioner, air con pulley or a soft gearbox mount.

You might struggle to find a 1.8-litre petrol car as they're very thin on the ground, but the 2.0-litre diesel is the better engine and these aren't hard to find.
